Dr. Sharon Nsana – Research and Education Lead
Dr. Sharon Nsana is an experienced researcher and educator specializing in development sociology, with a strong track record in academic teaching, research, and project management. She currently serves as a Part-time Lecturer at Information Communications University, where she supervises Master’s students, and as Co-supervisor for PhD candidates at the University of Zambia.

Her professional experience includes roles as a Research Associate at Nangoma Consult, Student Advisor at the University of Zambia, and Project Administrator for the Cystinet-Africa Project in collaboration with GIZ.

Dr. Nsana holds a PhD in Development Studies (2024), a Master’s in Development Studies (2018), and a Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching Methodology (2025). Her academic work focuses on women’s participation in public administration, gender equality, and political participation, with several publications in respected journals.

A recognized Research Fellow of the Zambia Research Development Center (2014), she has presented widely at conferences and contributed to shaping discourse on gender and development in Zambia.

At REN, Dr. Nsana brings expertise in research design, technical writing, mentorship, and social development research, helping bridge academia with policy and industry for greater impact
 

Dr. Bulus Pikitda
Finance & Organizational Development Specialist
Dr. Bulus Pikitda is a seasoned professional with over 12 years of NGO leadership experience and expertise spanning accounting, finance, business management, information technology, and research. He currently serves as Organizational Support Manager for Africa Services, West Africa Subregion, where he has been recognized multiple times as a best-performing staff member.

Dr. Pikitda holds a PhD in Management (Central University Nicaragua), an MBA in General Management (Assam Don Bosco University, India), a PGD in Accountancy, and an HND in Business Administration and Management. He has also completed advanced masterclasses in cloud accounting, forensic investigation, and data analytics, alongside certifications in project, grant, and financial management, strategic leadership, and organizational development.

A member of ANAN, ACCSA, and SPMIIM, and a Doctoral Research Fellow with the Corporate Institute of Strategic Research, he has consulted widely in finance and organizational development, while mentoring NGOs and lecturing voluntarily in Nigerian universities.

Dr. Pikitda is also an active researcher, with publications in accounting, finance, big data, entrepreneurship, and information management, underscoring his passion for bridging knowledge with practice.
 

Dr. Nosia Mhango Mwila
Public Health and Pharmacy Expert

Dr. Nosia Mhango Mwila is a seasoned public health professional, pharmacist, and educator with over two decades of experience in clinical pharmacology, teaching, and research. She currently serves at the University Teaching Hospital, Women and Newborn Hospital, Lusaka, while also lecturing at the University of Lusaka and Texila American University, where she teaches pharmacology, toxicology, and therapeutics to medical and public health students.

She holds a PhD in Public Health (Epidemiology), an MSc in Clinical Pharmacology and Nutrition, a Bachelor of Pharmacy, and a Diploma in Pharmacy, with ongoing postgraduate training in Public Health (MPH). Her research focuses on pharmacology, ART efficacy, and health systems strengthening, with notable work on biomarkers in HIV treatment.

Dr. Mwila has held leadership roles as Head of Pharmacy at Chilenje and Kanyama Hospitals, and is an active member of the Pharmaceutical Society of Zambia (PSZ) and the Hospital Pharmacists Association of Zambia (HOPAZ). She has contributed extensively to student mentorship, pharmacovigilance, essential medicines supply chain, and health workforce training.

At REN, she brings expertise in clinical research, pharmaceutical systems, and health education, advancing the translation of academic knowledge into solutions for public health challenges across Africa..
 

Dr. Zulu Jenipher
Radiopharmacy and Infectious Diseases Researcher
 
Dr. Zulu Jenipher is a pharmacist, lecturer, and researcher with extensive experience in pharmaceutics, radiopharmacy, and infectious diseases. She holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy and a Master’s in Clinical Pharmacy from the University of Zambia, and pursued a fellowship in Radiopharmacy at the Centre for Radiopharmaceutical Manufacturing in Batan, Indonesia, under the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). She is currently completing her PhD in Infectious Diseases at the University of Zambia, supported by a World Bank Scholarship through the Africa Centre of Excellence for Infectious Diseases.

Her doctoral research focuses on the adaptation of Methylene Diphosphonate (MDP) radiopharmaceutical kits for use in resource-limited settings, demonstrating that ambient-stored MDP maintains high radiochemical purity and effective diagnostic performance. This work has significant implications for expanding access to nuclear medicine diagnostics in Africa, particularly in settings with limited cold-chain infrastructure.

Dr. Jenipher has worked across multiple Ministry of Health facilities as a pharmacist and currently serves at the University Teaching Hospital and Levy Mwanawasa Medical University (LMMU) as a lecturer in pharmaceutics, mentoring the next generation of pharmacists.

At REN, she contributes expertise in clinical pharmacy, radiopharmaceutical innovation, and infectious disease research, advancing practical solutions that improve healthcare access in Africa
 

Dr. Jimmy Mapenzi Hangoma
Clinical Pharmacist & AMR Specialist

Dr. Jimmy Hangoma is a Clinical Pharmacist, researcher, and academic leader with expertise in antimicrobial resistance (AMR), clinical trials, and pharmacy practice management. He holds a PhD in Pharmacy Practice, a master’s in Clinical Pharmacy, and a Bachelor of Pharmacy from the University of Zambia.

He currently serves as Head of the Pharmacy Department and Senior Lecturer at Levy Mwanawasa Medical University, while also practicing as a Clinical Pharmacist at the University Teaching Hospital, Lusaka. His professional background includes leadership roles in Medland Hospital and national-level mentorship for HIV, TB, malaria, and COVID-19 programs.

Dr. Hangoma has authored over 25 peer-reviewed publications (h-index: 9), contributing significantly to global evidence on AMR and patient-centered pharmacy practice. He is also committed to capacity building, mentorship, and health policy development, ensuring research translates into stronger healthcare systems.

Dr. Isaac Chilufya Musonda
Medical Mentor & Public Health Specialist


Dr. Isaac Musonda is a medical doctor and public health professional with extensive experience in HIV/TB program leadership, clinical mentorship, and health systems strengthening. He holds an MBChB from Lusaka Apex Medical University and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Public Health at the University of Lusaka.

He serves as the HIV/TB Provincial Lead Medical Mentor with Right to Care Zambia under the USAID Action HIV Project, supporting the Ministry of Health in Luapula Province to improve access, treatment outcomes, and retention in HIV/TB care. His role includes developing guidelines, capacity building, program monitoring, and quality improvement research, while also driving innovations such as Tele-ECHO programs and differentiated service delivery models.

Previously, Dr. Musonda worked with ICAP-CDC as a Senior Medical Advisor at district and regional levels, advancing HIV prevention, care, and treatment services, as well as maternal and child health initiatives. He also held senior leadership roles in the Ministry of Health, including Medical Officer-in-Charge at Mongu District Hospital, where he coordinated clinical services, emergency response, and maternal health programs during the COVID-19 pandemic.

At REN, Dr. Musonda contributes expertise in health systems, research translation, and proposal development, ensuring academic findings are linked to real-world solutions in primary health care, SRHR, HIV/TB, and NCDs.
 

Dr. Mulenga Chituma
Program Manager and Infectious Diseases and Public Health Specialist

Dr. Mulenga Chituma is a medical doctor and experienced public health and HIV program manager. He holds the MBChB qualification from the University of Zambia, a Master of Business Administration from the Copperbelt University and he is currently a Commonwealth Scholarship recipient pursuing a Master of Science in Infectious Diseases from the University of London at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

Dr. Chituma’s previous roles include serving as the Director of Health Programs at Copper Rose Zambia, Program Manager at Right to Care – Zambia for the USAID Action to HIV Epidemic Control Project in Luapula Province, Provincial Technical Coordinator for both Southern and Lusaka Provinces, and Acting Deputy Chief of Party, and District Project Coordinator for Rufunsa, all for the CDC-funded EpiC 3-90 Project at Catholic Relief Services.

His professional focus is on public health interventions, particularly HIV-related research and programming. At REN, Dr. Chituma will contribute expertise in proposal development, clinical research, and program planning, implementation and monitoring focusing on infectious diseases, WASH interventions, and SRHR.
